It’s One-Hit Wonder Wednesday! Each week, I’ll pick a one-hit wonder to stir nostalgia and make us all ask “what were people thinking?”
This week, it’s Neneh Cherry with “Buffalo Stance.”
Swedish-born (!) Neneh Cherry delivered this slice of hip-hop goodness back in 1988. The song peaked at #3 in both the U.S. and the U.K. Cherry actually performed this song live on the U.K.’s “Top of the Pops” while she was seven months pregnant.
Neneh Cherry was expected to be “the next big thing” but she never charted in the U.S. again. She continues to record today.
