It’s One-Hit Wonder Wednesday! Each week, I’ll pick a one-hit wonder to stir nostalgia and make us all ask “what were people thinking?”

This week, it’s “One Tin Soldier” by Coven.

This one hit wonder is a bit unusual in that it charted twice! In 1971, it hit #26 as part of the soundtrack of the film “Billy Jack.” Then, in 1973, it re-charted, reaching #79 as a single from Coven’s album. But it is still Coven’s only charting hit.

“One Tin Solider” is an amazing mixture of 1960s anti-war messages with the early 1970s trend of “story” songs. And that awesome 1970s production with the horn section? Awesome!

Check back next week for another “One Hit Wonder Wednesday!”
